Driveway safe
Where will the dumpster go?
Most Baytown rentals sit on the driveway, set down on wood boards so the steel rails don't crack or scratch concrete or asphalt. The truck needs a clear, straight approach and room overhead. Parked cars, low wires or locked gates mean a $125 trip fee.
A street or curb spot usually needs approval from the city first, so tell us the spot when you book. You don't need to be home if the spot is clear. Read the full driveway placement guide.
Before you load
What can't go in the dumpster?
Hazardous chemicals, wet paint and batteries are not allowed in any dumpster. Freon appliances such as fridges and AC units, mattresses and tires can go in for $50 each, because the landfill processes them separately.

Where do Baytown residents take items a dumpster can't take?
Baytown holds a household hazardous waste event twice a year for residents inside city limits. Bring a driver's license or utility bill. The event takes motor oil, pool chemicals, car batteries and up to 10 paint cans per vehicle. Appliances are not taken at the event, but the Green Center accepts them year-round.
- Baytown HHW Event: twice a year; the last one was December 13, 2025. Call Public Works at 281-420-5300 for the next date. ETJ residents and businesses are not eligible. Tires up to 4 per vehicle. Event page
- Baytown Green Center: residents only, not for commercial use. Takes household debris, brush, electronics and recyclables. Green Center page
Freon appliances, mattresses and tires can ride in a roll-off for $50 extra per item. See what can go in a dumpster.
